Martijn Adelmund

Martijn Adelmund (1977) studied Language and Cultural Sciences in Utrecht.

He debuted in 1998 with poetry in the story magazine Fluisterend. In 2005 he released two story collections about local crime history and folklore, which he named Mysteries in Nederland. Based on the research he did for those two story collections, he later wrote three novels, two of which received the Hebban Award for the best Dutch fantasy.

His work Max Havelaar met Zombies was well-received by the audience in 2016. This modern retelling of the Dutch classic by Multatuli mixes this dark era in Dutch history with zombies!

At this moment, Adelmund is the city poet of Wageningen.
