FAQ for visitors
As the organization behind Heroes Dutch Comic Con, we are forced to postpone the event to 19 and 20 June 2021. In order to inform you about the postponement, we have compiled the Frequently Asked Questions. In case your question isn’t included in this FAQ, don’t hesitate to send it to us directly by filling out the contact form on our website. We will try to answer your question as quickly as possible.
Postponing the anniversary edition of Heroes Dutch Comic Con was a difficult decision, in which many aspects were taken into consideration. The tightened measures from the authorities and the changed sentiment within our community have played a significant role in the decision-making process. Your opinion and your safety are our top priorities. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the anniversary edition of HDCC. Together, we will make the edition in June very memorable!
The event is postponed to the 19th and 20th of June 2021. To avoid another disappointment, we have chosen for a date that’s is a little further in the future. With this new date, we aim to minimize the risk of having to postpone the anniversary edition yet another time.
All ticketholders have received an e-mail about the postponement. In this e-mail, you will read about the numerous possibilities. We hope you will hold on to your tickets for the new date in June, but you can also consider requesting a voucher or a refund. If you want to make a request, we ask you to do so no later than the 30th of November 23.59. After this date, it is no longer possible to request a voucher or a refund and your tickets will remain valid for June 2021.
Yes, all tickets from earlier editions are still valid for the new date in June 2021. This happens automatically unless you have requested a voucher or refund earlier. You don’t have to do anything and you are assured of access to our anniversary edition in June 2021.
It is important to notice that tickets bought for Saturday are valid for June 19th and tickets bought for Sunday are valid for June 20th. Weekend tickets remain valid for the entire weekend.
What a pity you can’t make it to HDCC on the 19th and 20th of June 2021! You have three options:
- Request a voucher: this voucher can be used to buy for tickets for another edition. A voucher can be used for any Heroes event in the Netherlands, like Heroes Dutch Comic Con or Heroes Made in Asia.
- Request a refund: we will issue a refund of the full amount of your order. Please note: the money will be transferred within 30 days after the next edition of HDCC takes place.
- Donate (part of) the costs of your order.
Choosing a voucher or a donation helps the continuation of Heroes Dutch Comic Con.
As an organization, we will be careful with the request you submitted and send you a confirmation of your request afterwards.
All ticketholders have received an e-mail with a link to the Credit Voucher Tool of Paylogic. In this tool, you can submit your request. If you would like to submit a request, we kindly ask you to do so no later than November 30 2020, 23.59. After this date, it is no longer possible to request for a voucher or a refund and your tickets will automatically be valid for June 2021.
How unfortunate that you haven’t received an e-mail. Firstly, we advise you to check which e-mail address you have used to buy the tickets for HDCC. It is also possible that the e-mail has ended up in your spam, so please doublecheck that as well. If you are sure you haven’t received our e-mail, please contact us by filling out the contact form on our website.
You could change your tickets into a voucher, so you can use the credit later to buy a ticket for a day that works best for you. The voucher will be valid for one of the Heroes events in the Netherlands, like Heroes Dutch Comic Con and Heroes Made in Asia.
Until the event there are only last-minute tickets available. In case you have bought a ticket for a lower price (Early Bird or Regular, for example), you might want to hold on to your ticket, especially since the last edition was sold out completely. In case you cannot make it, you could try to sell your ticket through Ticketswap to another fan!
Requesting a Voucher
With a voucher, your current tickets for HDCC will be cancelled and you will receive the full amount of your order as a credit. Paylogic will send you a personal code, which can be used to buy tickets to an event in the future.
The voucher will consist of the value for your tickets, the service costs and the order costs. In other words, it will have a value of everything you paid when you initially bought the tickets. This voucher can be used as a credit to buy tickets in the ticket shop of HDCC. For example, you could change the costs of your ticket for Saturday into a voucher and use it later to buy an all-weekend ticket. Obviously, you will have to pay the difference in amount.
Every voucher will be valid for at least 12 months after it has been issued. If you want to know until when you can spend it, check the validity on your voucher.
Unfortunately, it’s only possible to request a voucher for the entire order. Therefore, it’s not possible to request a voucher for part of your order or one ticket.
It is possible that there is still money left on your voucher after using it, for example when you buy a cheaper ticket. The amount that is left will automatically turn into a new voucher and you can use that amount for another time.
The initiative ‘Save your ticket, enjoy later’, which is supported by the Dutch authorities, was started to avoid that event organizations go bankrupt when everyone asks for their money back. Therefore, organizations and events, such as Heroes Dutch Comic Con, are given the opportunity to keep organizing events in the future. Instead of requesting a refund for your tickets, you get a voucher, which you can use at a later moment to buy a ticket.
With ‘Save your ticket, enjoy later’, the cultural and sporting industry hopes that ticket holders will attend their favourite venue or event at a later date. This helps to absorb the economic impact of measures related to the coronavirus in the cultural sector. Additionally, it means that efforts can continue for events in the future. This not only helps the organizers, artists and venues, but also all the people behind the scenes who make the events possible, such as set builders, technicians, suppliers, creatives and other employees, and self-employed people in the cultural and sporting sector.

Request a refund
If you have requested a refund, the amount will be issued back into your account within 30 days after the next edition of HDCC takes place. Unfortunately, the reason for issuing the refunds at a later moment is necessary for the continuation of Heroes Dutch Comic Con.
Ticket holders who have requested a refund in July 2020 will be refunded soon. We don’t want to keep you waiting, so we have decided to make an exception on the Terms and Conditions of the ‘save your ticket’ initiative. Everyone who has requested a refund in July 2020 has received an e-mail from us regarding the procedure.
We are aiming to have all confirmed special guests attending our anniversary edition in June 2021.
We are aiming to have all confirmed special guests attending our anniversary edition in June 2021. If you haven’t requested a voucher or refund, your tickets are still valid for the new date. This includes your Meet & Greet and Photobooth tickets as well.
If you have requested a voucher for your order, this voucher will include the amount paid for any, additional tickets (like Meet & Greet or Photobooth). This amount can be used to buy any new tickets, if still available. More information on vouchers can be read in the ‘voucher’ section of this FAQ.
If it turns out one of the special guests can’t attend, we will refund the amount of your Meet & Greet and/or Photobooth tickets. In case of a cancellation, all visitors with a ticket for this guest will be informed separately.
Yes, please! Your donation helps us immensely. You can choose to donate (part of) your order to us and help us organize Heroes Dutch Comic Con in the future.
If you want to make a donation, you can do so in the Credit Voucher Tool of Paylogic. When you ask for a refund or restitution in this tool, you can indicate what part of your order you want to donate to us. The rest of the amount (if anything is left) will then be issued in your voucher or restitution, depending on your choice.
All scheduled gaming tournaments will take place on June 19th and 20th 2021. Your tickets are therefore still valid.
If you aren’t able to come to HDCC on the new dates, you can request a voucher or a refund for your entire order. A voucher or restitution is always for your entire order, so it includes your gaming tickets.
All participants that have been selected for the postponed edition will have an advantage for participating in the Cosplay Contest and/or Cosplay Catwalk in June 2021. If new places become available in either one of the activities, a new selection procedure will be started. For any other questions about the Cosplay Content or the Cosplay Catwalk, please contact Hype Creations directly.
Tickets that have been bought through Ticketswap remain valid for June 2021 as well. However, for this ticket, you cannot request a voucher or restitution. In that case, we kindly advise you to contact Ticketswap or the original seller of the tickets.
Unfortunately, due to the multiple postponements, we are starting a new selection procedure for our event in June 2021. The good news is that we still need plenty of volunteers to make our anniversary edition a giant success, so please keep an eye on our website and social media. We will post updates on the selection of volunteers, as soon as we start the procedure again.
