Biography

David Leach is Senior Creative Editor at Titan Comics. He is currently the editor of Titan Comics’ Blade Runner series, including Blade Runner 2019, Blade Runner 2029, and Blade Runner: Origins. He also edited The Phantom of the Opera graphic novel, Rivers of London: Monday, Monday, V.E. Schwab’s Shades of Magic, and ExtraOrdinary, and Lavie Tidhar’s Adler. His previous editorial and writing credits include: The Prisoner (which he plotted), Dan Dare (plotted), Fighting American, Anno-Dracula, The Blacklist, Captain Kronos, Hammer’s The Mummy, and Adventure Time to name but a few. He also edits and compiles all of Titan Comics’ vintage range of comic book title which includes Flash Gordon, Mandrake the Magician, assorted Elric reprints and Peanuts.

David’s career as a cartoonist, writer and editor spans over 30 years, starting out as British animator, Bob Godfrey’s ‘ghost artist’ on Henry’s Cat. He went on to work as a freelance cartoonist, illustrator, writer, and colourist for ten years before joining the editorial staff of Marvel UK as an editor.

 

As a cartoonist and writer his work has appeared in newspapers: The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, and The Sun, the satirical magazine Private Eye and comics Oink, Whizzer & Chips, Gas, Brain Damage, UT, Moose Kid, and Casper, Action Man, and LEGO Adventures. He also co-wrote and co-drew issue #15 of Marvel US comics Toxic Crusaders, the only comic authority coded comic to feature a man sat on the toilet. He’s worked for publishers including Marvel Comics, BBC Worldwide, Panini, Egmont, Tundra, Marvel UK, IPC, and Fleetway. His work in the cult British 1990 comic, Toxic! – where he co-created, co-wrote and co-drew The Driver – led to him writing and drawing The Toxic Crusaders for Marvel Comics US. He also wrote and drew The Dinner Ladies From Hell for Toxic!. He created his most popular character, Psycho Gran in 1987 for the much-loved kids comic, Oink. He’s also written Ren & Stimpy, Spider-Man and Wallace and Gromit comic strips for a variety of newspapers.

In his spare time, David writes and draws his own comic books, Psycho Gran Versus, Psycho Gran Comic Capers Cavalcade and the autobiographical comic – David Leach Conquers The Universe

 

Outside of comics, in 2013 David won Channel Four’s TV reality show Come Dine With Me.
