DeConnick kwam voor het eerst naar voren als stripauteur, waar ze vooral bekend is door het heruitvinden van Carol Danvers als &#8220;Captain Marvel&#8221; bij Marvel en voor het Black Label-project Wonder Woman Historia: The Amazons bij DC. Haar onafhankelijke strips Bitch Planet en Pretty Deadly (beide van Image Comics) worden beschouwd als bestsellers volgens de New York Times en hebben prijzen gewonnen, waaronder Eisner Awards, British Fantasy Awards en Hugo-nominaties.<\/strong><\/p><p>Het filmwerk van DeConnick omvat bijdragen aan Captain Marvel, een film die wereldwijd $1 miljard heeft opgebracht voor Disney, en de aankomende The Marvels uit 2023 met Marvel Studios. Daarnaast heeft ze advies gegeven voor projecten bij Skydance en ARRAY en heeft ze televisieconcepten ontwikkeld voor NBCUniversal, Legendary Entertainment en HBOMax. Haar meest recente theaterwerk is het mythische spektakel AWAKENING, dat in november 2022 in het Wynn Resort Las Vegas in premi\u00e8re ging.<\/p><p>DeConnick heeft een missie en is daarom ook een van de oprichters van Good Trouble Productions, waar ze heeft geholpen bij het produceren van non-fictie en educatieve strips, waaronder de series &#8216;Hidden Voices&#8217; en &#8216;Recognized&#8217; voor de openbare scholen van New York en het congreslid John Lewis-project, in samenwerking met Abrams Comics.<\/p><p>In 2015 heeft DeConnick het #VisibleWomen Project opgericht met als doel om o.a. vrouwen te helpen betaald werk te vinden in de stripwereld en aanverwante industrie\u00ebn. Het project gaat tot op de dag van vandaag door en is onlangs uitgebreid in samenwerking met Dani Hedlund van Brink Literacy.<\/p><p>DeConnick woont in Portland, Oregon, met haar man, schrijver Matt
