Jermaine McLaughlin is a London (UK) born, Brooklyn-based writer, comic historian, and collector of entirely too many action figures.

He caught the bug for all things Superheroes, comic books and sci-fi from a childhood filled with episodes of the Superfriends, G.I. Joe and Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends. Which eventually served as a gateway into a lifelong love of the medium, fostered in no small part by inspirational creators such as Walt Simonson, Chris Claremont, John Byrne, Alan Davis, George Pérez among many other luminaries of the artform.

He considers himself extremely fortunate to be able to call himself a twenty plus year veteran of the comic book industry, beginning with his decade plus tenure on staff at D.C. Comics, (*) getting the chance work with and learn from industry stalwarts on the editorial side of the business such as Mike Carlin, Joey Cavalieri, Dan DiDio and Bob Harras.
Option two: having a front row seat two such iconic DC Events as “Infinite Crisis”, “The Return of Red Hood”, “Flashpoint”, and birth of the “The New 52”.

From there he has graduated onto a career pursuing his love of writing for and about superheroes with freelance stints with “Syfy Wire”, and “The Beat”. His work is also featured prominently in the Marvel Comics Library series from Taschen, specifically “The Avengers”, “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “The Fantastic Four” collections.

Jermaine made a splash last year authoring “The Official Spider-man cookbook”, which served as a culinary tour of some of the Spider family’s favorite foods. He’s returning to Heroes Dutch Comicon this year with “Superman: The Official Cookbook: recipes from Smallville to the Hall of Justice and Beyond”, where our guide around the DC Universe will be none other than the Mom of Steel herself, Martha Kent.
