Would you like to be part of the biggest comic convention of the Netherlands?
Do you want to help at Heroes Dutch Comic Con and you don’t mind to work hard? Do you want to get an exclusive view behind the curtains? Then you should register yourself as a volunteer at Heroes Dutch Comic Con.
We are looking for enthusiastic and helpful volunteers who are available on June 20 & 21, 2026. If you recognize yourself in this description, we will definitely need you. Become our hero and register as a volunteer. Please notice: You can only volunteer if you are 18 years or older.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
As a volunteer, you will be scheduled in for a certain task. This could be the scanning of tickets, being a runner, supervising activities, making sure things run smoothly in different areas or other various tasks.
You will receive a volunteers manual where all tasks will be explained. There will be two volunteer meetings organized where you can ask your questions.

Do you love HDCC and want to be part of what happens behind the scenes? Or do you need volunteer hours for school?
As a volunteer, you’ll gain experience, meet new people, and help create a great experience for our visitors. You can share your preferences when signing up, but we can’t guarantee specific tasks.

- An amazing work experience at the biggest Comic Con of The Netherlands.
- A HDCC Crew shirt.
- Food and drinks during the day.
- Coverage of travel expenses (0,19 cents per KM with a max. of 100 KM, public transport will be covered completely).
- Work one day, receive a ticket for the other.
- A fun outing with all volunteers!

People with different conditions or support needs are very welcome to volunteer with us. You can absolutely take part!
Just let us know what you can and cannot do when signing up, so we can find a role that suits you. We aim to create a supportive and comfortable environment where everyone can contribute in their own way.

When can I sign up as a volunteer?
As soon as we start selecting our volunteers again, we will communicate this through our website and social media.
Why should I volunteer?
You are helping to create an amazing experience for our visitors and your will get the chance to have an exclusive behind the scenes look at Heroes Dutch Comic Con. You will get work experience at one of the most exiting events in The Netherlands.
What do I have to do?
You will be given a certain task, like scanning tickets, being a runner, supervising activities, making sure things run smoothly in different areas or other various tasks.
You can let us know what your preference is, but we can’t guarantee that you’ll be given that particular task. Whatever you do, it will be contributing to a memorable experience for our visitors.
How old do I have to be to sign up?
You have to be at least 18 years old.
When do I have to be available?
Preferably on both days of the event. You can also volunteer on one day.
On what times do I have to be present?
Saturday: 08:00 AM till 06:30 PM
Sunday: 08:00 AM till 06:30 PM
What is the volunteer meeting?
You will receive a volunteers manual where all tasks will be explained. There will be two volunteer meetings organized where you can ask your questions if you still have any!
When do i know if I'm selected?
After the selection procedure, we will let our volunteers know as soon as possible. All selected volunteer will receive an e-mail.
I have volunteered at Heroes Dutch Comic Con before. Do I have to sign up again?
Yes, you can register yourself via the registration form for volunteers. Here you can mention that you have volunteered at a previous edition.
Last minute, I cant make it. Can I have someone else replace me?
Unfortunately not. When you register yourself as a volunteer we are counting and depending on you. It is also very important to attend the volunteer meeting.
Unforeseen events can always happen, like illness or worse. In that case, please contact us as soon as possible via info@dutchcomicon.com or the email adress of the Volunteer Coordinator. Include in the header ‘Cancellation Volunteer’.
When is it wise to not register as a volunteer?
If you’re not sure if you can make it on either of the days of the event. At every edition of Heroes Dutch Comic Con we are striving to make it better then the previous edition and give our visitors an even better experience. To secure this we need to be able to depend on our volunteers.
Can I explore Heroes Dutch Comic Con if I volunteer?
If you are working on one day, you will receive a ticket for the other day. If you are working the whole weekend, we’ll try to get you some free time. Please keep in mind that you can not decide for yourself at what time you get some free time. It is not possible to get a free ticket for another edition of Heroes Dutch Comic Con nor for another event of the Heroes group.
Can I participate in activities if I volunteer
We assume that you are fully available during the day(s) that you are volunteering. This also applies to photobooth or meet & greet sessions.
Do I have to pay for parking at Jaarbeurs?
In case of travelling by car, you won’t have to pay a parking fee when parking at any of the parking lots of Jaarbeurs. You will receive a parking ticket.
Will my travel expenses be reimbursed?
Your travel expenses will be reimbursed up to a max of 100 km per day by car. If you are travelling by car, the reimbursement will be 0,19 cents per kilometer. When you travel by public transportation, we will reimburse your ticket. After Heroes Dutch Comic Con you will receive an expense claim form.
