Heroes Dutch Comic Con puts Fantastic Four in the spotlight! Visitors of the Summer Edition get a unique look into the world of the Fantastic Four
Today, on the 4/4, Heroes Dutch Comic Con announces theme one (of two) for its comic area: the Fantastic Four! With the upcoming release of the motion picture ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’, Heroes Dutch Comic Con will welcome leading artists who have played an integral part in the storytelling and success of “Marvel’s First Family”. Visitors can expect a unique look into the world of Marvel’s original superhero team during the event’s summer edition.
A smash hit for more than 60 years
The adventures of Reed Richards, Ben Grimm, Sue and Johnny Storm have been closely followed since the 1960s. The comic-books chronicle the story of four adventurers who accidentally come into contact with cosmic rays, after which they acquire incredible superpowers. The series was created by Marvel founders and legends Stan Lee & Jack Kirby in 1961. Since then, hundreds of comics and three films have been released.
A fresh start
The film franchise gets a reboot next July, featuring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach in the lead roles. Ahead of the film’s release, the organisers of Heroes Dutch Comic Con are inviting four reknowned writers and illustrators to take visitors into the exciting world of the Fantastic Four. They all have played a significant role in the history of the four superheroes. Together, they will look ahead to the new film and how new life will be blown into the franchise.
A unique look into the world of the Fantastic Four
During the summer edition on 20, 21 and 22 June, visitors will be able to attend interesting panels about the superheroes and art workshops, where illustrators demonstrate their drawing process and writers will explain the ins and outs of how to create a good story. Visitors will be able to commission the artists for a custom piece of artwork, or have their favorite Fantastic Four (but not only those) comic-books signed.
It all starts with the comics
What is a Comic Con without comics? For Heroes Dutch Comic Con, it is one of the most important components of the event. Every edition, the organisers aim to exceed themselves by introducing a special theme and welcoming some of the biggest names in the industry. Comic-books are the basis of many beloved films, series and games. It all starts with the illustrator and writer of the comic-book. This makes the comic area the beating heart of the event.
