Pandora is calling once again. This month, the world of Avatar expands in a big way! Not only on the silver screen, but also in gaming. With Avatar: Fire and Ash hitting cinemas and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes launching as a major game expansion on the very same day, fans can dive deeper into James Cameron’s universe than ever before.
Avatar: Fire and Ash – The Next Chapter on the Big Screen
Avatar: Fire and Ash is the third official Avatar movie, directed by James Cameron. The film is scheduled to release worldwide in cinemas on December 19, 2025.
Following the events of Avatar: The Way of Water, the story once again centers on the Sully family, while introducing a brand-new Na’vi clan known as the Ash People — a darker, more aggressive tribe that brings new moral conflicts and perspectives to Pandora.
At launch, Fire and Ash will be available exclusively in cinemas. A streaming release on Disney+ is expected at a later date, likely sometime in 2026.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – The Game
If you prefer exploring Pandora yourself, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Ubisoft Massive. Originally released in December 2023, the game allows players to step into the role of a Na’vi who was raised by the human RDA and must now rediscover their heritage while fighting back against human exploitation.

Despite the similar naming, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes is not a movie or a series. It is a large story expansion (DLC) for the game and it launches today on December 19, 2025, the same day as Avatar: Fire and Ash hits cinemas.
This timing is no coincidence.
