This November, fans will get the chance to meet him in person at Heroes Dutch Comic Con.

Ryan Eggold’s breakthrough roles in The Blacklist and New Amsterdam

Ryan Eggold has taken on leading roles in two hugely popular television series. He established himself as a key part of The Blacklist’s early storylines, appearing in the show for five seasons. He portrayed Tom Keen, a mysterious character whose complicated past and shifting loyalties became central to the crime thriller. Eggold continued his role as Tom Keen in the spin-off The Blacklist: Redemption, placing the character at the heart of the series.

He later took on a very different kind of role in New Amsterdam, where he played Dr. Max Goodwin for five seasons. As the compassionate and determined medical director at the centre of the series, Ryan Eggold brought warmth, humanity and heart to the hit medical drama. Together, these two roles show his range as an actor, moving with ease between darker, tension-filled storytelling and deeply emotional, character-driven television.

Beyond television: film roles and directing

Eggold’s work in film adds yet another dimension to his career. Fans can currently see Ryan Eggold in Cross for Amazon, opposite Aldis Hodge, which is based on James Patterson‘s book series. He has also appeared in a diverse selection of films, including Spike Lee’s critically acclaimed BlacKkKlansman, the intimate drama Never Rarely Sometimes Always, A Jazzman’s Blues and My Secret Santa.

His creative ambitions go beyond acting alone. With Literally, Right Before Aaron, Eggold stepped behind the camera as writer and director for his first feature film, showing his skills not just as a performer, but also as a storyteller and filmmaker.

Theater and Broadway debut

Alongside his screen roles, Ryan Eggold has built a varied body of work in theater. He has appeared in productions including All My Sons, Dead End and Amy and Elliot, taking on a variety of roles that allowed him to develop his range as a live performer. Eggold also reached a significant career milestone with his Broadway debut in Yellow Face.
