Admire all beautiful Cosplayers during the Cosplay Contest at Heroes Dutch Comic Con, or participate by yourself. Professional and semi-professional cosplayers from The Netherlands will do their utmost best to impress the judges with their impressive outfits and spectacular performances. They will show their skills and costumes to win cool prizes.

CONTEST RULES

  • Saturday participants must be at least 16 years old.
  • Sunday participants must be at least 18 years old.
  • The costumes for the cosplay competition must be made by the participants.
  • Outfits are not permitted to be obscene, offensive, incite hatred, or provoke. Nudity is also prohibited. Outfits must cover the entire body. There are, after all, children present. This rule applies to all HDCC visitors.
  • The Cosplay Competition only accepts solo and duo entries.
  • For a solo act, all participants must perform a maximum of 90 seconds and a maximum of 2 minutes for a duo act.
  • Duo entries must come from the same franchise/game/movie.
  • Outfits must adhere to the I.P. (Intellectual Property) holder’s designs.
  • Self-created characters, own designs based on reference material, and self-designed designs are not permitted in the competition, but are permitted on the Cosplay Catwalk.
  • An international jury will judge both your act and your cosplay. Both aspects are equally important.

What kind of weapons/props can i bring?

Heroes Dutch Comic Con is an all-age convention. All costumes must include a proper amount of skin coverage for public display, as we will have children present. When in doubt please contact Hype Creations via info@hype-creations.com or via their social media channels.

Yes you can! There are dressing rooms available here you can complete your outfit.

You can participate in both the Cosplay Catwalk as the Cosplay Catwalk. Do keep in mind that if you do, your Heroes Dutch Comic Con experience will revolve mostly around cosplay. 

We will let you know if you’ve made it into Cosplay Contest or Catwalk as timely as possible. As we get a lot of registrations this may take a little while. However, should you think something went wrong, please send us an email via info@dutchcomiccon.com.

After registration you’ll receive a small bag including a drink and a snack.

Due the many applications and to keep it accessible for everyone, the participants are randomly selected by our internal team.
