Traditionally, a comic artist takes care of the artwork of the official poster for Heroes Dutch Comic Con. For the upcoming winter edition, the Spanish CAFU, designed the artwork. In contrast to other years, the mascot of Heroes Dutch Comic Con is involved in the design this year.

CAFU, who has been with DC Comics for years, pays tribute with his design to Batman, one of the most famous superheroes of the comic publisher, who is celebrating his 80th birthday this year. CAFU was inspired for this work by the iconic image that was used in Tim Burton’s very first Batman film in 1989.

The Spanish CAFU started its career at DC Comics and has had many successes, including the acclaimed T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents series and Vixen: Return of the Lion. He also worked for Captain Atom and Blackhawks. CAFU also worked on various Marvel Comics publications, such as The Avengers and Black Panther. His most recent work is Valiant Comics’ series Life and Death of Toyo Harada, in collaboration with screenwriter Joshua Dysart.

Of course, the poster and artwork will be exclusively available on both days of the event. These can be signed by CAFU.

We’ll see you there!
