With a career spanning over four decades, Carl Lumbly has become a beloved and highly respected figure in the world of film, television, and voice acting. Fans of superhero stories, sci-fi adventures, and animation will instantly recognize his incredible body of work.
Career Highlights
Isaiah Bradley – The Falcon and The Winter Soldier
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Lumbly delivered a powerful and emotional performance as Isaiah Bradley, the first Black super soldier. His role added depth and historical weight to the superhero genre and quickly became a fan favorite in the Disney+ series.
M’yrnn J’onzz – Supergirl
As the father of Martian Manhunter (J’onn J’onzz), Lumbly played the wise and heartfelt M’yrnn J’onzz, winning over audiences in the Supergirl series with his layered portrayal of a character dealing with memory loss and cultural legacy.
Marcus Dixon – Alias
