C.B., we are thrilled to have you at Heroes Dutch Comic Con! Have you ever been to the Netherlands before?

I’m thrilled to be coming! I’ve visited Amsterdam on several occasions as a kid when my family traveled around Europe, and for a couple days here and there as an adult on layovers, but this will be my first extended stay and I look forward to experinecing everything the Netherlands has to offer. Especially the food!

You’ve worked on so many amazing characters and stories. Which character is most special to you and why is that?
That’s always a hard question to answer. I’ve been an X-Men fan my wholee life, so Marvel’s merry mutants hold a special place in my heart. Dani Moonstar, Kitty Pryde and Nightcrawler are three favorites. But I also love our teen characters, as they offer such an interesting POV into the Marvel universe, and Runaways is a series that I’m most proud of editing.

In your bio we read that it’s your mission in life to give international artists from all over the world the opportunity to work in the American entertainment industry. What (event) made you realise that this needed to become your life’s mission?
In my youth, I spent every summer in Europe as my mom’s from Sweden, and through my cousins, I was was exposed to all kinds of different comics wee did not hav access to in the States. I would bring books like Asterix & Obelix, Lucky Luke and Lt. Blueberry home to show friends and saw how everyone’s eyes lit up and wished we had comics like these in English. It was the same for me when I first saw and was blown away by Japanese manga. I knew that I wanted to bring all these international comics markets and creators together.

You will be at our show together with the entire Marvel’s Stormbreakers class of ’23. It’s the first time you all visit a show together. Can you explain to our visitors what makes this such an unique and special occasion?
People often talk about how they wish they were old enough to have seen the Beatles when they were young, before they got famous, so you can think of this as the comic equivalent of that. DCC is offering fans the opportunity to meet these incredible group of creative superstars from aroud the world in one place, for the first, and maybe only, time ever!

At our event, Dutch illustrators can have their portfolio reviewed by you. Is there one golden tip that you can give them?
Storytelling, storytelling storytelling! That’s what comics are all about. Be it on a cover or interior pages, all artists have to be able to visually hook a reader and draw them in with their artistic abilities.

Is there anything you like to say to your Dutch fans?
I look forward to meeting you all. Please don’t be shy. I’m a fan just like you and make myself available at these shows to talk comics, share our passions these characters and stories, and bond over our love of Marvel! See you soon.

We’re looking forward having you at our show.
Many thank and see you soon!
