Utrecht, 20 February 2019 – Heroes Dutch Comic Con adds an interesting name to her
impressive line-up. Author Mike Carey will be present at the stand of The American Book Center during the spring edition on 23 and 24 March.
Multi-talent Mike Carey began his career as a writer in the comic book business. More than twenty years ago Carey started to write for comic book serie Lucifer for DC Vertigo Comics. For this work Carey was nominated for an Eisner award. He wrote for the Vertigo series for years. Especially for Hellblazer and together with illustrator Peter Gross he worked on The Unwritten. For Marvel he worked on comics like X-men and Ultimate Fantastic Four.
Besides that, Carey is also a successful novel writer. His book The Girl With All the Gifts was made into a movie by Warner Bros. and received an international release in 2016. He received a BAFTA-award nomination for Outstanding Debut for his work as screenwriter of this film. He also wrote the successful Felix Castor series, which currently exists out of five books. Carey’s most recent work, the psychological thriller Someone Like Me, was released November 2018.
