Meet these comic guests at heroes dutch comic con

Comics are indispensable on Heroes Dutch Comic Con. Because of that, we have introduced the “comics area”. Besides various exhibitors offering all kinds of comics and merchandise, you can meet you favourite comics artists and editors. Come and take a look at their work and, if interested, buy unique pieces. 

Francis Portela

Francis Portela, born in Spain, has worked for both DC Comics and Valiant Entertainment. He started working on American comic-books both as a penciler (two issues of GI Joe: Frontline for Image / Devil’s Due) and as an inker, in books like “Batman: Gotham Knights” (with Al Barrionuevo) for DC Comics.

Scott Kolins

Scott Kolins, born in Seville (Spain) but grew up in Wisconsin (US), is known as an award winning comic book creator for his art for “The Flash”, “The Avengers”, “Justice League” and “Blue Beetle”.

David Leach

David Leach is Senior Creative Editor at Titan Comics. He is currently the editor of Titan Comics’ Blade Runner series, including Blade Runner 2019, Blade Runner 2029, and Blade Runner: Origins. He also edited The Phantom of the Opera graphic novel, Rivers of London: Monday, Monday, V.E. Schwab’s Shades of Magic, and ExtraOrdinary, and Lavie Tidhar’s Adler.

Rafael Albuquerque

The Eisner, Harvey and Inkpot Award winner: Rafael Albuquerque will be attending Heroes Dutch Comic Con. The comic artist is well known for his work on All-Star Batman, Animal Man and Batgirl.

Ramon Bachs

Ramón F. Bachs is a comic-book artist. Ramon is currently back at Marvel, working on books like the Marvel Rising: Squirrel Girl / Ms Marvel miniseries, Star Wars: Age of Rebellion – Darth Vader, and his two most recent books, Star Wars: Bounty Hunters and Eternals Forever.

Jesus Merino

Jesus Merino began, after successive participations in fanzines and contests, publishing serveral works in Laberinto Line of the Spanisch publisher Planeta DeAgostini: Anibal Gris (1996) Checkmate (1997) and Vertice Triad (1998), limited series in black and white with different themes in which superheroes abounded already.

Joel Meadows

Joel Meadows is a journalist and writer with over three decades of experience in newspapers, magazines, and books. His CV includes some of the most renowned publications in the world, including Time magazine, the Times, the Telegraph, the Guardian, and the Observer. He has also written extensively about comics, film, TV, photography and culture for publications such as Variety, Empire, Big Issue in the North, and Comic Heroes.

Adam Christopher

Author of the bestselling Stranger Things: Darkness on the Edge of Town Adam Christopher’s debut novel, Empire State, was SciFi Now’s Book of the Year and a Financial Times Book of the Year. His other novels include Seven Wonders, Hang Wire, The Burning Dark, and the Ray Electromatic Mysteries series.
