Legendary comic authors who’ve shaped Fantastic Four and Superman to attend Heroes Dutch Comic Con!
This summer is all about superheroes. With the release of two brand new Superman and Fantastic Four motion pictures, new life is being blown into the iconic franchises. For Heroes Dutch Comic Con, this is the reason to put extra focus on the cultural impact of said superheroes during its upcoming summer edition on June 20, 21 and 22. The event announces ten leading comic creators, all of whom have played an important part in the rich history of “The Man of Steel” and “Marvel’s First Family”. Meet the talented comic Special Guests during the Summer Edition of Heroes Dutch Comic Con!

Comic Guest announcement: Kathleen Wisneski, DC Comics’ Editor
Kathleen Wisneski has been editing comics for ten years. She got her start at Marvel at the tail end of Secret Wars and was lucky enough to get hired at DC in 2024, just in time for the ALL IN initiative.

Comic Guest announcement: Julian Lopez (artist of Superman, X-men, JLA among others)
He has worked for DC Comics on titles such as Action Comics, Superman, World’s Finest, War of the Supermen, Batman & The Outsiders, Oracle: The Cure, Titans, Wonder Woman, Faces of Evil: Kobra, JLA Classified, Adventure Comics, and The Mighty Crusaders.

Comic Guest announcement: Tom Grummett, known for Superman
Tom Grummett has enjoyed a career of over thirty years in the comic book industry, penciling various titles for Marvel and DC. Beginning with the New Teen Titans, he moved to regular penciling duties on Adventures of Superman, where he contributed to the Death and Return of Superman storyline.

Comic Guest announcement: writer Jermaine McLaughlin
Jermaine made a splash last year authoring “The Official Spider-man cookbook”, which served as a culinary tour of some of the Spider family’s favorite foods. He’s returning to Heroes Dutch Comic Con this year with “Superman: The Official Cookbook: recipes from Smallville to the Hall of Justice and Beyond”, where our guide around the DC Universe will be none other than the Mom of Steel herself, Martha Kent.

Comic Guest announcement: Kevin Maguire (most known for his 80s run on Justice League International)
Kevin Maguire is a comic book artist most known for his 80s run on Justice League International.

Comic Guest announcement: Jesús Merino (Known for Superman & Wonder Woman)
Jesús Merino, the legendary comic book artist behind iconic DC titles like Superman, Wonder Woman, Justice League, and Flash, is coming to HDCC! With a career spanning over 20 years, Jesús has worked on unforgettable titles like Avengers Forever, Fantastic Four, Green Lantern, Hellblazer, and Astro City.

Comic Guest announcement: Rickey Purdin, Director of Talent Relations and talent scout at Marvel Comics
As Director of Talent Relations and talent scout at Marvel Comics for ten years, Rickey Purdin has been at the forefront of onboarding and cultivating new artistic talent at the House of Ideas. Read more!

Comic Guest announcement: James Robinson (worked on Fantastic Four)
Among his more known and regarded works are Fantastic Four, Grendel Tales: Four Devils, One Hell, sundry Legends of the Dark Knight arcs, Superman, Justice League of America, Batman, Detective Comics, Wonder Woman and Earth 2. He is perhaps most well-known for his award-winning runs on both Starman and Leave It To Chance.

Comic Guest announcement: Ron Marz (lengthy run on Silver Surfer for Marvel)
Ron Marz has been writing comics for more than three decades, starting his career with a lengthy run on Silver Surfer for Marvel. Since then, he has worked for virtually every major publisher, including stints on Thor for Marvel, Green Lantern and Superboy for DC, Star Wars for Dark Horse, the historic Marvel vs. DC crossover, Witchblade for Image, and many others.

Comic Guest announcement: Jim Cheung, known for INFINITY, AVENGERS VS X-MEN and NEW AVENGERS!
Whilst exclusive with Marvel Comics for over 15 years, he created titles such as INFINITY, which spawned the Avengers: Infinity War movie, and the award winning YOUNG AVENGERS! Jim is currently working on a book for DC, and enjoying the challenges that the project is throwing his way.

Comic Guest announcement: Ryan North, writer of Fantastic Four
Ryan North is the writer of Fantastic Four. His recent work includes the non-fiction books How To Take Over The World and How To Invent Everything, the semi-fictional graphic novel adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse-Five, and the so-far-fictional series Dinosaur Comics and Squirrel Girl.
