We have great news for all fans of comics, gaming, films, and cosplay: the ticket sale for Heroes Dutch Comic Con 2024 has officially begun! This year, Heroes Dutch Comic Con will take place on June 21-22-23 at the Jaarbeurs Utrecht, and we are more excited than ever to welcome you for a weekend full of adventure and camaraderie.

Doctor Who’ star David Tennant to appear at Heroes Dutch Comic Con

Scottish actor David Tennant is coming to Heroes Dutch Comic Con. Tennant, best known for his role as the tenth Doctor in “Doctor Who”, is the first special guest to be announced for the three-day event. On June 21, 22 and 23, 2024, the pop culture event will open its doors at the Jaarbeurs Utrecht for their summer edition, which for the first time will also take place on Friday night for a modified program. David Tennant will be present on both Saturday and Sunday.

THE BOY AND THE HERON

THE BOY AND THE HERON – the latest film from the grandmaster Hayao Miyazaki – will be exclusively in theaters and IMAX from December 27! The film has also been nominated for a whopping 2 Golden Globe Awards in the categories of Best Motion Picture – Animated and Best Original Score – Motion Picture.

The American Book Center returns to Heroes Dutch Comic Con with their ABC pop-up bookstore, offering a diverse selection of comics, manga, SF&F books, and Dungeons & Dragons. Star Trek fanclub The Flying Dutch at Heroes Dutch Comic Con!

The Flying Dutch is an association that is actively involved with the legendary science fiction series Star Trek. The fan club TFD was founded in 1984 and since then it has been the informative contact for everything that has to do with Star Trek. 

What began with meetings in attic rooms in the 80’s, The TFD grew into a large national association  in the 90s. With an active volunteer group, the TFD has been working for the promotion of Star Trek for years.

New COVID-19 Update 12.11.2021

Today, Friday November 12th, the Dutch government has decided to introduce new COVID-19 restrictions for events. These new restrictions will also apply to Heroes Dutch Comic Con next week on the 20th and 21st of November 2021.

Something that cannot be missed at Heroes Dutch Comic Con are, of course, the cosplay judges who will judge the Cosplay Contest! And today we can already announce one of them.

Special guest announcement: Dominique McElligott!

Dominique McElligott is an Irish actress, most recently seen as Queen Maeve on the hugely popular Amazon series THE BOYS.  In 2016, McElligott played Hannah Conway, wife of the Republican presidential nominee, in the fourth and fifth season of the Netflix show House of Cards.

Bonnie Wright (1991) is an English actress who became world famous thanks her role as Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter Movies. Ginny Weasley appeared in all Harry Potter movies and her character has grown bigger and bigger in each new movie. Initially Bonnie was only casted for a small scene in the first movie, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone. But eventually Ginny Weasley became a regular character in the movies.

The Green Knight on Prime Video

Heroes Made in Asia 2021

The organization of Heroes Dutch Comic Con organizes Heroes Made in Asia for the very first time in the Netherlands. The Evenementenhal Gorinchem will change into an Asian location on October 16 & 17. 

Heroes Dutch Comic Con 2021

From June 26, conventions and events in the Netherlands will be allowed again, including 100% visitor capacity and without 1,5-meter distance. We are therefore super excited about executing Heroes Dutch Comic Con on November 20 & 21 2021. We are finally able to restart again! Slowly but surely is Heroes Dutch Comic Con getting closer to its new edition. In these turbulent times, we received a lot of support from our visitors, Fanclubs, and participants. We would like to return this favour by putting our amazing community in the spotlight on #appreciationwednesday. Today, we would like to put a Fanclub at our event in the spotlight, namely the Harry Potter fan club: Wizard wear. Winner of the cosplay from your closet competition: FennaCosplay

We organised a cosplay competition on our Facebook page on the 12th of April. This competition only had one rule; The cosplay had to be made with clothes from your wardrobe. When you entered the competition, you were eligible to win an interview about your cosplay story on the Heroes Dutch Comic Con website. A lot of cosplayers participated. However, in the end, we only chose three winners.  Finally, we could reveal our last winner namely Fenna cosplay. In this article, you could find everything about her cosplay journey and what her biggest challenges have been.

We, from Heroes Dutch Comic Con, would like to put one of our fan clubs in the spotlight. Namely, The Ghostbusters Dutch Division. This fan club could be seen at almost all editions of Heroes Dutch Comic Con. Where every year they make their stand memorable. For this reason, we would like to put them in the spotlights.

<p We, Heroes Dutch Comic Con, organised a cosplay competition on our Facebook on the 12th of April. This competition had only one rule; The cosplay should be made with clothes from your closet. The winner of this competition won the opportunity to get an interview about their cosplay journey on the Heroes Dutch Comic Con website. Many cosplayers participated however, we chose only three winners. Last week, we revealed the first winner and today we can finally reveal the second winner, namely Praime Creations! In this article, you can learn about who she is as a cosplayer.

The anniversary edition of Heroes Dutch Comic is postponed to autumn 2021

The anniversary edition of Heroes Dutch Comic Con, scheduled for June 19 and 20, 2021, will be postponed to November 20 and 21, 2021. We as an organization believe that it will not be realistic to organize a large scale event in June. We estimate the likelihood that the vaccination process will be in an adequate state, to be small. We don’t want to leave our participants and visitors in this uncertain situation. This is why we have decided to postpone this anniversary edition to November 20 and 21, 2021.

We asked Valeriecosplays to help us find the best ways to grow and start with your cosplay. Valerie is a 23-year-old cosplayer who started as a small cosplayer three years ago and developed to be one of the largest Dutch cosplayers with over 40.000 followers on Instagram. Great news for Heroes Dutch Comic Con

Good news for all Comic Con fans! During the press conference of June 24th, the Dutch government has announced that, from the 1st of July onwards, it will be allowed again to organize events and gatherings.

The Dealer Hall has been sold out for quite some time. With more than 200 retailers offering all kind of unique and geeky merchandise, it is almost impossible to leave Heroes Dutch Comic Con empty-handed.

Last Minute ticket sale will start Monday 2 March.

The regular tickets sale will end 1 March at the end of the day. You can still get a day ticket now for €22,- and a weekend ticket for €38,- (excl. service and administration costs). At 2 March the Last Minute ticket sale will start. 

Meet Arrow actor David Ramsey at Heroes Dutch Comic Con

David Ramsey, better known for his roles in the television series Arrow and Dexter, will be present to meet his fans on both days of Heroes Dutch Comic Con. Once Upon a Time actor Colin O’Donoghue and Overwatch voice actress Carolina Ravassa were announced earlier.

The regular ticket sale has started!

On Saturday the 28th and Sunday the 29th of March the Jaarbeurs Utrecht transforms into the largest comic con in the Netherlands again. During this weekend you can immerse yourself in the world of comics, movies, series, games, cosplay, merchandise and much more! 

The Early Bird ticket sale for the spring edition has started

Are you disappointed when Heroes Dutch Comic Con is over and will the upcoming edition be in your diary in capital letters again? Then we have good news, because today the Early Bird ticket sales of the spring edition will start. The spring edition will take place on the 28th & 29th of March in the Jaarbeurs Utrecht. The sale runs until the 27th of December.

Announcement Fantastic Stories Competition 2020

Do you like writing and walking around for a long time with a great idea for a story? Then participate in the Heroes Dutch Comic Con Fantastic Stories Competition! This story contest, organized in association with the American Book Center and publisher Zilverspoor, is the time to show off your writing skills. The award ceremony will be during the Heroes Dutch Comic Con edition in March 2020 and it will be a very special ceremony this time.

Game of Thrones ‘War Table’ to be seen at Utrecht Central Station during Heroes Dutch Comic Con.

The last season of Game of Thrones and the ‘complete collection’ will be available on Blu-ray and DVD in the Netherlands from 3 December. To celebrate this, fans will have the chance to see a 4.5-meter-long ‘War Table’ at Utrecht Central Station on the 23rd and 24th of November during the weekend of Heroes Dutch Comic Con. The table, with the entire Westeros area on it, has been made during recent months by a Dutch company commissioned by HBO, and is completely unique in the world. 

Chris Sprouse coming to Heroes Dutch Comic Con

We welcome Comic Artist Chris Sprouse on the winter edition of Heroes Dutch Comic Con! Chris has many titles to his name. From Black Panther, Thor and Daredevil to Uncanny X-Men, Batman and many others. However, he is best known for his Wildstorm/DC Comics’ Tom Strong series, which he created together with Alan Moore.

Regular ticket sales starts 15 august

As fast as the Early Bird tickets flew, you should be warned by now! The organization announced that the sale of the regular tickets will start August 15th at 1PM! Write it with capital letters in your calendar and ensure yourself off a ticket. 

Winner VIP ticket upgrade

Even before the official closing date they were sold out, the Early Bird tickets for the winter edition of Heroes Dutch Comic Con on 23 and 24 November 2019. From the 10th of May until the 31st of May, you could already assure yourself of an Early Bird ticket for the cheapest price. The tickets sold out in record time.

Brand new website is now live

Finally we managed to crack down our old website and invested in this outrageously smooth new designed website, which is also mobile friendly! It has cost us blood, sweat and tears to get this up and running which we can now proudly present to you. Please do explore the new features and let us know what you think.   

Early Bird tickets are sold out

In a record time the Early Bird tickets for this year’s winter edition are completely sold out. In less than two and a half weeks all available Early Bird tickets were sold out, which was a new record. Be aware, mark your agenda because August 15th the regular tickets will be available.
